 The 10.1 Acer is a great machine and a perfect size for travel. Compact,lightweight,fast & capable of doing everything most people need when traveling. E-mail, photo editing & saving, getting travel info from the internet are all easily done. Keyboard & touchpad are small, but not cramped. Have had it for 1 month and just love it. Find myself using it at home instead of my 17" laptop because of its light weight. An external optical drive is necessary if you want to install some other programs, but Windows XP has all the basics. Acer Aspire One AOD150-1669 the design is better,They are sleek netbooks with a nice clean paint job resembling a showroom sports car. Ultra portable, thin and lite, these are the best balance of functionality and extreme mobility.  It is such a joy to carry around a computer the size of a book and not have to lug around a traditional laptop. The 10.1" screen is a perfect size with great clarity and reasonable performance. This model can easily be upgraded to have 2GB of memory from the standard 1GB that comes with it. Earlier models were a nightmare to upgrade. 10.1" screen, with 1024x600 resolution. Bright, clear, and easy-to-read, The screen is 1024x600 CrystalBright (shiny) type LCD but very comfortable to read under various light conditions. There is an integrated 0.3M megapixel (640x480) webcam and microphone embedded in the screen frame. Ideal to use a video phone/conferencing software like Skype, etc. BTW, to gain some vertical space on desktop, you might want to set Windows XP taskbar to auto-hide and pop-up when you move the cursor to the edge of the screen.  I think this is a terrific little Netbook. It's portable, lightweight and relatively fast given what it's supposed to be used for - email and simple internet. If you attempt to overload it with programs or expect it to react just as a regular notebook would - you will be disappointed. For basic email and internet use - it's great. I've had no problems with the keyboard and I don't find that the screen has much glare at all. Again - if you adjust your expectations and realize this isn't a notebook and you can't treat as such - you will love it as I do!  Acer Aspire One AOD150-1165 10.1-Inch Netbook - Sapphire Blue This small computer (netbook) is truely big on power for its size. I have had desktops for several years, and enjoy working and playing on them. Now that I have this new Acer 10" I feel so free, and I am getting on-line more often than I thought I would. It is light-weight, and so very portable. Also the battery power really surprised me. (At least 6-7 hrs. of pc time) The price is also the best for a netbook this size. I have researched other netbooks, and found them to be more expensive, and nowhere near as powerful as this little Acer 10". I love it,  It handles movies and music very well, and the web cam has a pretty good picture quality.
It is small and light. It has a smartly designed keyboard, an excellent screen and a long UM08B52 battery life (I have yet to exhaust it in a single setting at about 4 hours of use without external power). It does not run hot and maintains a temperature well below other laptops.
extended run-time on battery. This is perhaps one of the greatest advantages of a netbook over a more traditional laptop. Because of the power-efficient processor used, even the smaller 3-cell UM08A31 battery will usually have double the battery run-time of a regular laptop. And with a larger 6-cell battery, the Acer will run for an entire workday. Like other early orders, mine (ordered on Sunday 2/22) was shipped with the larger battery. This adds an enormous degree of convenience and utility to the netbook; true un-tethered portability. long with the 3 USB ports, good wi-fi connectivity, an ethernet port, external monitor jack, built-in webcam and mic, 1 GB RAM, and 1.6Ghz processor, it has everything most of us need in a portable computer, Sound quality is very good given the size and placement of speakers (Has equalizer and a lot more audio customization options). Built in web-cam and mic work perfectly and in low light.Totally quiet, the fan noise is almost non-existant.
